Colonial America Unit Primary Sources
The following primary sources can be used with the Colonial America unit. These pictures refer to the SOL 5 for Virginia history. Students can use the sources to discuss the "crime scene" and make inferences as they "zoom" in on the details. They will create a story by predicting what each picture is saying and develop an understanding about the diversity of the original 13-colonies. The pictures can be enlarged, copied and pasted to make a large poster. Additionally, the pictures can be reduced and duplicated for a sorting time line activity.
