CONSTITUTION AND BILL OF RIGHTS

During the summer of 2007, I had the honor to be a participant in the Bill of Rights Institute at Mount Vernon in Virginia.  Many of the ideas are still marinating in my brain right now but I wanted to begin this web page before September.  Although a work in progress, the menu below will contain web links for the Bill of Rights Institute, teacher resources, primary source information, a tour of my experience at the Institute, and some lesson ideas for your classroom.  Please be patient with me.  My daughter is having a baby in one week so I will add more information over the summer.  A huge wish of thanks is to the donors to the Institute and the staff for providing such wonderful seeds of ideas to bloom on this site.

In 2008, I attended the Center for the Constitution seminar and NEH seminar at Montpelier, home of James Madison.  For pictures, click on Madision.

I am a frequent visitor to Washington's home on the Potomac.  During my visit, I have met the Patrick Henry and Lady Washington.  Sitting on the piazza at sunrise and sunset is, as the General would say, "DIVINE PROVIDENCE."
