The Declaration states the beliefs of the Founders about what government is for or the purpose. It explains how government is created.

It argues or gives reasons why the colonies thought they had good cause to break away from Great Britain

It has a list of complaints against the British King. These are the rights of the colonists that the King violated.

At the end it states that the bond between Great Britain and the colonies is over or dissolved. It states that the United colonies ought to be Free and Independent States.

Fold a paper "hot dog style".  Then fold hamburger style, twice.  You will have four folds to cut flaps.  Cut on each fold of the top part of the paper.  Hold the paper that is folded "hot dog" style like a tent.  The sections here are used for the model I make for the interactive notebook.  Students complete the sections on their own and don't copy mine.  I  keep this copy for kids who may be absent or a visual
