MUSHING ACROSS ALASKA..

This web unit is dedicated to:

          Nyal Worsham

a dedicated educator in Alaska and my friend.

For several years I have incorporated Alaska and the

Iditarod Race in my winter unit.  Perhaps my enthusiasm has

been contagious.   I have always wanted to participate in

this race from Anchorage to Nome.  The interest and

fascination for the land, people, cultures, and   and

dog sledding has been universal in the primary and

intermediate classes I have taught. This section

incorporates curriculum for young students but many of the

ideas and resources are easily extended to the

                  intermediate level.

The Musher's Menu will be your lead dog on the trail of

various topics and curriculum areas.  Click the mouse arrow

to the underlined topic for a direct link. The information

is updated as I gather more information, resources, or

                 ideas.

                             Happy Mushing,

                          B.Sarah Froehlich, M.Ed.
