MAGGIE THE PUG

                      ROOM 20 MASCOT

              READY FOR SCHOOL

Room 20 Families,

The year we have a special mascot, Maggie the pug. Maggie is named after Margaret Brent.  Throughout the year, Maggie will be traveling to the homes of the Room 20 Pugsters.  Different students will be taking Maggie home in her special traveling bag on weekends.  In her bag you will find a camera, a journal notebook, pencils, crayons, Maggie "gear" and items that your child may add to the bag.  Feel free to donate other clothes or puggie items to the bag.  Maggie wears a size extra small in doggie clothes.

Your child may take Maggie on your family outings, gatherings, or events during the weekend.  Please have your child write about your family's experiences with Maggie AND take pictures.  You DO NOT have to develop the film in this camera.  Simply return the camera in her traveling bag on Monday.  I will take care of picture development and scrapbook making of her adventures with our kids.

Being a responsible pet owner is serious business. So, we have some important rules for Maggie when she visits your home.  Please read the special care instructions with your child.

                                   Happy "Tails" to You!

                     TRAVELING MAGGIE RULES

1.  Do not put Maggie in water.  She does not like a bath and she does not know how to swim.  She loves the beach but prefers to be in a safe place when you are around water.

2.  Keep Maggie away from live animals.  She is very sensitive and does not like bite marks.

3.  Maggie is on a special diet of love, hugs, and tender kisses.  She does not need to share people food with you.  Pugs are very big chow hounds but Maggie simply needs love.

4.  Keep all of Maggie's things in her traveling bag.  She cannot be ready for her next trip if she does not have all of her gear.

5.  Maggie would be lonely on Monday if she did not come back to Room 20.  Make sure your child returns Maggie ON MONDAY after your wonderful weekend.

6.  To keep Maggie safe when traveling, make sure the clip is fastened when you put her inside of the traveling bag.  She would be sad if she fell out,  got a boo boo, and had to go to the pug doctor.

7.  Enjoy Maggie!  She loves to sleep with people but don't let her hog the bed or the pillows.  If she snores, just rub her pug tail.  Pugs DO snore!

8. Maggie loves to have her picture taken.  Please take pictures of Maggie and your family together.  Be sure to write about your activities with Maggie in her special journal.  She will present her traveling memories and pictures in June to the Room 20 families.

Some Pictures of Maggie and Dolley

Dolley will be sad to see Maggie go back to school on Tuesday.  Maggie will have so many pug "tails" to share with Dolley in June. She can't wait to meet and spend time with all of the Room 20 families.  Now, Dolley has Miss Froehlich all to herself.  "Have fun, Maggie," says Dolley.
