Introducing Dolley

Dolley was born on April 26, 2003 in Wickenburg, Arizona.  I have been a pug "mom in waiting" since December.  My daughter, Stephanie, and her husband, Tyson, started looking for a little pug puppy for me at Christmas.  On July 12, 2003 Steph called me to tell me that she found my puppy.  I was so excited that I did not sleep the night before we went to see the puppies.  Needless to say, the bond between Miss Dolley and I was quite immediate.  She is the new light of sunshine in my life and a welcome member of my household (another dog named Woobie and my very indulged cat, Ping).  Dolley is named after Fanny Brice and Dolley Madison.

I discovered early that Dolley could perform an interesting trick.. curling her tongue.

Dolley slept all night long on her first night home right next to me.  She is beginning to call some of the shots around the house and I love indulging her.

"Hey Mom! This nail polish is just not working for me."

                                      DOLLEY MEETS MATTHEW

One Saturday in July, Dolley met my grandson, Matthew. They had a very good time together.

                  DOLLEY'S FIRST PLAY DATE

Dolley loved playing with Stephanie's pugs, Lacey and Abbi.  Here she greets Abbi for the first time.  "I love playing, mom!"

What a fun game!  Tug-of-war.  "Hey, mom.  I need some help here.  Two against one."

"Hummm.  That thing in Matthew's mouth sure looks interesting."

Dolley, Abbie and Lacey run to give Stephanie a hug.  Just like children, they all want to be first.

After a long, long, day, Dolly says goodbye to Matthew and her playmates.  She was a tired baby and slept all of the way home.

Matthew has a portable swing that Dolly believes was made just for her.  I guess when Matthew outgrows the swing, Dolly will have a special "pug porch."

                                         Woobie Girl

Woobie and I have been together for 15 years.  She is most particular about her beauty shop appointments.  She loves to be groomed and have a bubble bath.  She has trained me to retrieve treats whenever I come home from work, when she looks at me with those eyes, or any other time.  She truly has my heart.  Although she is not as fast as Dolley, she is enjoying having a friend spend time with her.  Although Miss Woobie is not with Dolley and I anymore, she will always be in our hearts.  I believe she is running, swimming, and pulling kids on roller blades with angels.

                                 NEW PUG NEWS

Dolley will have a little sister this summer.  Her name is Ellie (E. Roosevelt).  She is a 5-year old little girl who loves to be held and cuddled.  Right now, she is in Arizona with my daughter, Stephanie but will come home with us in July, 2008.  We are so excited to have a new pugster in our home.  More pictures and details will be added soon.  Meet our Ellie

DOLLEY GOES ON VACATION TO PHOENIX

In July, 2005, Dolley and I went on an airplane to Phoenix, Arizona to visit my grandson and daughter.  She loves to travel and rides under the seat on the airplane.  Since she is so cute, she attracts a great deal of attention at the airport.  Here are some pictures from her visit with Matthew and Stephanie.

Dolley loves binkies.  She never chews on the binkie but will walk around all day with one in her mouth.  Matthew and Dolley liked to share binkies or trade.
