Welcome to Dolly's Scrapbook,

Since I am traveling around the United States meeting many new friends, the kids in Room 30 are keeping a scrapbook of memories of the other mascots that will visit our school.  I am sure they are having fun visiting my little "cubs" in Ms. Froehlich's first grade.  Please welcome our first visitor from Commerce, Texas (Mrs. Wilt's Kindergarten), Bearemy Bear.  Howdy, Bearemy!

                                      BEAREMY BEAR'S VISIT

Dear Kids,

On October 23, 2001, I finally arrived.  I took a detour in the mail but we were so happy to spend time with him.  The principal brought me to the teacher during lunch recess.  The kids ran across the playground to greet me.  Although I was not able to visit for a long time, the kids kept me busy with activities and fun.  I even learned some new words in Spanish.  The visit went so quickly, it was almost a blur!

I could not wait to stretch my legs.  The kids took me to the playground.  WEEEE!

Then, I smelled donuts!  The secretaries had some Krispy Kreme donuts in the office.  They shared some yummy donuts with a hungry bear.

The Principal, Mr. Mauran, needed some help with his paperwork.  He was very nice to let me help organizing the papers even with my sticky donut paws.

The kids here sing many songs.  They have Morning Meeting each day on a special carpet.  I got to lead the singing and point to the words with a "magic" pointer.

Wednesday was a special day.  I got to pick pumpkins.  A farm brought a pumpkin patch to our school.  I helped the kids pick pumpkins.  Boy, they ran my little legs crazy.  I had to take a nap or "una siesta" on a haystack.

Visiting Phoenix was so much fun.  The kids here are very special and took very good care of me.  I miss all of my friends in Commerce, Texas.  But, I will write soon.  I am off to Maine for another adventure this weekend.

                                                          Adios to all of you!

Amos the Maine Moose Finally Arrives in May!

Amos Moose finally arrived on Monday, May 20, 2002.  His travel plans were delayed due to some rather unfortunate problems in a mail room in Maryland.  We were all so upset that there was a moose on the loose.  Everyone is happy now.  He arrived with our mascot, Fanny Fox.  Needless to say, we are having fun celebrating Amos and Fanny.  Click on the moose to find out more about Amos's visit to Phoenix, Arizona.
