WOODROW WILSON
AND
WORLD WAR I
Woodrow Wilson, in my opinion, is a fascinating and complex
man. To simply state that I admire Wilson would be an
understatement. To appreciate his political and personal
challenges, Wilson must be viewed through the lens of World War
I. Integrating the cultural, economic, social, military
and political aspects of this time are critical considerations
for teachers as they develop resources and instructional
approaches.
During the summer of 2008, I was fortunate to attend a Gilder
Lehrman institute in Staunton, Virginia on Woodrow Wilson and
World War I. The seminar at Woodrow Wilson's birthplace
was an incredible learning week for me. I hope to share
many of the ideas and resources from the seminar for
teachers and students on this page. However, this effort
will be a work in progress since I have numerous ideas but limited time.

The pictures below are from the Woodrow Wilson Presidential
Library in Staunton, Virginia. A great place to visit.
