World War 1 Posters

World War 1 portrayed in posters weaves together many social, political, economic and cultural aspects of the War.  The posters presented on this page may be integrated in some of the other primary document folders you create for your students or may be used alone as a lesson.  Additionally, the posters convey strong messages that may lead into a discussion on propaganda and the motivation of public opinion.  The Library of Congress has a great web site with information and numerous WW1 posters.  You can go directly to the Library of Congress by clicking this link:

The Library of Congress also has a WW1 guide.  You may connect to this page by clicking on this link:

When selecting posters for your lesson objective, review the ones that would be appropriate for the age/grade of your students as well as the purpose (propaganda, social, motivation, etc).

This page is a work in progress so if you don't find something here, check the Library of Congress link or come back and visit soon.
